IMPORTANT

Goodness, the year really has flown by. I’m sorry for neglecting this blog for almost half the year… Uni life is more work than I anticipated. Anyway, I’ve decided to move this blog to another site. See you there!

It was revealed on the 7th that TVXQ’s leader, U-Know Yunho will take on the main lead role of Prince Shin in the upcoming Goong musical scheduled for this September.

The musical is an adaptation of popular drama with the same name and catapulted Joo Ji Hoon into stardom although his star has somwhat dimmed in the last year and he is now serving in the army.

This will be Yunho’s second attempt at acting after his drama debut with Heading Into The Ground last year which was somewhat unfortunate.

The musical producer revealed the reasons for choosing Yunho, “We decided to choose Yunho because of his exceptional dancing, singing capabilities and mastery of the stage. All that has been demonstrated on stage through concerts. Added to his prince-like appearance, there’s no ideal person other than him for this role. We look forward to a charismatic showing by him for his musical debut.”

Others confirmed for the musical include Lee Chang Hee and Jung Dong Hwa,SNSD’s Sooyoung’s sister Choi Soo Jin and MILK’s member Seo Hyun Jin.

Group Eight will be producing the musical and it will start from September 8th at the Seoul National Museum’s theater.

This is gonna be an awesome musical, especially since Goong is one of my favourite dramas. Too bad I don’t live in Korea. I can’t wait for the musical pictures to be released!

TAIPEI: Mando-pop trio S.H.E’s Selina Jen got the surprise of her life on Saturday when her beau, lawyer Richard Chang, called her his “wife” during the group’s concert in Taipei, reported China Times.

“I hope S.H.E. won’t stop singing because of me,” Chang said after grabbing a microphone.

“I love you my wife!”
Jen was flabbergasted.

“What did you just call me? My god.” said Jen.

Her knees buckled and she started sobbing soon after.

“I can finally publicise our relationship, everyone got their ticket’s worth,” Jen told the cheering crowd.

Chang, who had attended the concert with Jen’s parents, quickly went backstage after expressing his love.

“This really showed us what love is. Selina had been in love and had gotten hurt before, we are very moved that she can overcome her past,” said Jen’s band mates Hebe Tien and Ella Chen.

They were also moved by Chang’s romantic gesture but were not surprised at all.

It turned out that Chang had been very worried that his proclamation of love would negatively affect the pop group and had consulted everyone involved, including Jen’s parents, band mates and even her boss before carrying out his plan.

“He was so anxious that I was afraid he would chicken out, but he turned up anyway. He had to take a drink for courage, but he managed to do it in the end… I am really happy for Selina,” said Tien during an after party for the concert.

When Jen met Chang

Jen, 28, met Chang, 39, during a matchmaking event back in 2007. She was not attracted to him at first but their relationship grew as they exchanged more and more phone calls and started chatting frequently online.

Jen, who once described Chang as “Prince Charming” was very careful to keep their relationship under wraps and even claimed that they had broken up after the press photographed them attending a party together.

In reality, Jen continued to see Chang and even moved into a house Chang owned before finally going public about their relationship at Saturday’s concert.

Despite Chan’s bold expression of his love during the concert, Jen said she will not be thinking about marriage just yet and simply wants to enjoy their now-public relationship.

“I can finally tell people that I am a girl living in bliss… As for marriage, I think I will let nature take its course.”

So, I’ve finally found official website for his Australian concert. So, Khalil Fong and Fiona Sit will be performing in 3 cities in total, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne!! In fact, you can already pre-order tickets for Sydney and Melbourne concerts. Details for the Adelaide concert are below:

Date: Saturday, 7th August, 2010

Venue: Adelaide Entertainment Centre Theatre

Time: 8:15pm- 10:30pm

Prices: $169, $129, $99

Tickets: on sale sometime between 6-9 of June. I’m not sure, but it’s also through Ticketmaster.

From the facebook page, there seems to be a lot of places other than Ticketmaster to purchase your tickets from. Guess, it’s better to give them a call first.

I searched around youtube and found a couple of videos filmed by someone who attended the Melbourne concert. The resolution is good and you get a pretty good idea of what’s going on. There are 11 parts to this video. Have fun watching, I know I did. ^^

I mentioned at the start of the year (i think) that there will be a Korean remake of Itazura Na Kiss. The Japanese version was made quite a while ago (I haven’t seen it myself) and the Taiwanese version (It Started With A Kiss) was hugely popular, starring Joe Cheng and Ariel Lin. There was even a sequel to it, which I absolutely loved, even though I don’t normally tolerate long dramas. This one was just too cute and funny.

Anyway, I am looking forward to this remake, especially since Group Eight will be producing this drama. As you may know, Group Eight is the company responsible for the hit dramas Goong and more recently, Boys Over Flowers to name a few. Filming will start in July with casting being finished soon. They are aiming for a broadcast in Spring (in Australia), 2010.

I will post information about casting, as soon as I find out.

Wohoo! Oh my goodness,  I know I’m supposed to be studying for exams, but I couldn’t wait to share the news.

Yes, it’s true Khalil Fong will hold a concert together with Fiona Sit in August. I’m soooo excited! I’m a HUGE fan of Khalil Fong and have all his albums. He has such a great voice. It’d be awesome to see him live!!! I don’t know who Fiona Sit is, since I don’t listen to cantopop, but this concert should be fantastic. I hope to attend this with a couple of friends. Ticket sales open in a week. The prices are quite reasonable too, like the JJ Lin concert. Wow, 2010 is proving to be an exciting year for cpop Melbournian fans. The details are below.

JJ Lin Tickets

Someone just told me that the JJ Lin tickets haven’t been completely sold out, so there’s still hope. I FINALLY saw the posters to his Melbourne concert stuck across all the notice boards in my university’s  Asia Centre. I’ll try to find out how the concert goes, since it’s only 2 days away.

Thought I’d share a funny story with you.

My mum went for her usual grocery shopping and wanted to buy the rock melon, because it was on sale. However, the price of the rock melon wasn’t determined by its weight, but by its quantity. My mum didn’t know which to pick, so her best way of determining which one to buy was to weigh it on the scale provided. When I heard this, I slapped my hand on my head, asking “Mummmm, why???” My mum replied with a little smile to her face, ” I didn’t know which one to pick, since they all looked pretty good. This way, I can buy the heavier one.” Then she quickly added, ” Don’t worry, I made sure nobody was looking before I weighed the rock melon.”

I was so happy I wasn’t there, otherwise I would have died of embarrassment.

YES, you read correctly, JJ Lin is coming to Melbourne (and not Sydney) as part of his world tour. I actually just heard about this news a couple of days ago and was rather shocked. This hasn’t been advertised as much as the Jay Chou concert, so I only heard it through a local student radio show. I think tickets should already be sold out by now, since it’s held at the Melbourne Convention Centre…. Anyway, here are the details:

Date: 24/4/10 (Saturday)

Time: 8pm-10:30pm

Venue: Melbourne Exhibition Centre

Cost: VIP / $169 / $119 / $99 / $69

Check out his youtube message too!

Yay for all the JJ Lin Melbourne fans!!!!!
